What is a PBA Score?

Why is a PBA Score valuable?

For Consumers with little to no credit history, the PBA Score leverages alternative data and behavioral traits and beliefs to provide lenders with more information to assess credit requests. Consumers with a credit history, have a CCB Consumer Credit Report to objectively demonstrate good repayment behavior, whereas those with little to no credit history do not have this. The PBA Score allows this underserved group to obtain better and more inclusive credit opportunities.

The PBA Score is a score given between 0-1000 (a higher score being better). Lenders can use this information in their credit decision-making to determine creditworthiness and if they would like to extend credit.

02. Privacy: how your data is used and protected

Your data privacy is important and protected by local legislations. CCB only collects personal information that is required to offer this service on a data minimalisation principle.

Furthermore, financial Institutions can only request your PBA Score if:

  1. They are a Member of CCB
  2. They have a legitimate interest to access your data (i.e. to manage your credit request)

Does AdviceRobo receive my personal information?

Our partner, AdviceRobo, has a privacy-first approach and will not have access to any personal information. All data collected by them to offer their services is done anonymously (i.e. not traceable to any individual consumer). Furthermore, AdviceRobo operates according to all relevant data privacy regulations such as GDPR, DORA, AI ACT.

01. What type of data is collected?

The PBA Score uses alternative data to determine a predictive score that Lenders can utilize in their credit-decision making process. This alternative data consists of:

  • ✅ Personal information:
    To register a Consumer Record in the CCB Online Registry (personal data is not collected for scoring): Name, date of birth, country of residence, phone number, etc.

  • ✅ Psychometric information: 
    Personality Traits, Mindset, and Behavioural Risk indicators

  • ✅ Biometric signals: 
    Patterns in digital behaviour, device interaction, and response times

  • ❌ Digital footprint data is not collected

03. How long is your PBA Score available?

Your PBA Score will be registered for a term of 3 years.

During this period it is not possible to change your score or register for a new PBA score.

It is possible to request your PBA Score to be terminated. Please note: if you decide to register your score again after it has been deleted, you will be required to purchase it again. There will be no refund if you decide to delete your PBA Score.

A PBA Score is a score between 0 and 1000 that is calculated based on your responses of the questionnaire. In general, a higher score is better.

It takes your responses to the questions, together with some information about how you fill in the questionnaire to determine a predictive score about how you will repay loans: the PBA Score.

CCB only collects essential personal information to be able to deliver this service (e.g. your name, date of birth, ID number, etc). Our partner, AdviceRobo, will only receive anonymized data and will not be able to link any data used to calculate a score to a specific individual.

Once you've performed a PBA-score assessment and your PBA score has been registered, it will stay registered for a period of 3 years. Studies have shows that this is the optimal period to maintain a PBA score registration. During this period it is not possible to perform another assessment to obtain a PBA score. After the 3 year period has ended, you can register another PBA score. 

No. All credit decision making rests with the Financial Institution / Lender you are requesting a credit at. The PBA Score is purely informational and can give Lenders more information to make a responsible credit decision according to their own policies and guidelines. CCB does not assume any responsibility in credit decisions.

The assessment and scoring model is developed by AdviceRobo and is based on scientific research and academic collaborations. It is proven technology and is implemented globally by Banks, Consumer Retail companies, and Credit Bureau's.
